Anthony Aibel got into Juilliard at age 16--one of the youngest students ever accepted--and studied musical directing, acting and voice among other things--earning the nickname 'Master of Some'--before receiving his Masters Degree there. He later studied acting for several years with director/acting teacher Terry Schreiber, who taught Edward Norton, Maria Bello and Peter Sarsgaard, among others. He also studied Philosophy and Literature at Columbia, and at Tanglewood with Leonard Bernstein and John Williams.
He has freelanced with the talent agency ICM Artists (now ICM Partners), and was musical director for Area 31, which received a Grammy Award Nomination. In 2014 and 2015, he filled in as a musician on Broadway, performing Bernstein's On the Town at the Lyric Theatre.
Earlier in his career, he was a music director for shows at the Kennedy Center which featured EGOT-winner Rita Moreno, Rosemary Clooney, The Tonight show's Doc Severinson and Al Jarreau. He was also a speaker and leader for seven events at Carnegie Hall and SUNY Purchase Performing Arts Center. At 23, Aibel had become one of the youngest professional music directors in the United States, and the New York Times/Washington Post wrote several pieces about him. He became recognized for acting, narrating and doing voice-overs while leading from the podium--twice portraying Darth Vader. He was an invited guest on NBC's Live at Five, and did several promo commercials with CBS's Mary Calvi for the News 12 Networks. He has also done print ads in People and Time magazines.
